The Canadian Red Cross EMR course is a comprehensive
training program equipping participants with essential skills to respond to
medical emergencies. Topics covered include patient assessment, CPR, AED usage,
and managing various medical and traumatic situations. Upon completion,
participants receive a nationally recognized certification, qualifying them to license with EMALB to
work as Emergency Medical Responders in diverse settings.
Emergency Medical Responder
This is a 120 hour-course will help trainees learn and demonstrate the skills required to provide appropriate assessments and ongoing in all emergency situations.
EMR Update
This extensive 20-hour EMR scope expansion update designed for current licensed Emergency Medical Responders (EMR). This update has been recognized by the EMALB, guaranteeing alignment with new regulatory requirements and standards.
EMR Bridging Course
This 80-hour course is tailored for candidates holding a current OFA3 certification, offering an opportunity to enhance their skills and expand career prospects through this bridging program.
EMALB is the governing body in BC responsible for licensing Emergency Medical Responders (EMRs) to ensure they meet required standards. To become licensed, candidates must complete approved training and pass an exam, demonstrating their competency in essential medical skills. Licensing must be completed within one year on complete the EMR course. Once licensed, EMRs are qualified to provide timely and effective emergency medical care in various settings, making a significant contribution to community safety and well-being.

Participants must be certified in Standard First Aid with CPR level C if they wish to proceed with this course.
Participants need to attend 100% of classes and achieve a minimum of 75% on both written and practical examinations.
Participants will receive a certificate that is valid for 3 years. However will have 1 year to complete licensing with EMALB
